I am extremely grateful to Scottish Natural Heritage for granting me permission to carry out fieldwork on
the beautiful Isle of May. This incredible island is a wildlife haven and is home to thousands of seabirds during the summer months. Translated as "Gull Island" in Norse, there couldn't
be a better place to carry out research in my first year!
I couldn't recommend a visit to this wildlife hotspot enough. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the busy world of breeding seabirds or just feel the salty breeze on your skin, the Isle of
May really is a special place.
